Maven

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 8, 2026

Maven is a translation, polishing, and Yiddish voice-to-text service offered as a browser extension and website by Software Plus Tech Inc. (“Maven,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains what we collect, what we do not collect, and who processes your data.

The short version

We do not store the text you translate or the audio you dictate. That content is sent to our servers only to be processed in real time, forwarded to the AI service that produces your result, and then discarded. We keep your account and usage counts so we can run your subscription — not your content.

What we collect

  • Account info — your email address (and name, if you provide one) used to sign in, handled by our authentication provider, Clerk.
  • Subscription & billing — your plan and the identifiers we receive from Stripe (customer and subscription IDs). Card details are entered on Stripe and never touch our servers.
  • Usage metering — a count of the actions you take (e.g. a translation or a dictation) and the date, so we can apply your monthly allowance. These records contain no text or audio content.
  • Connection tokens — when you link the extension to your account, we store a one-way hash of the device token (never the token itself).

What we do not store

The text you submit for translation or polishing, and the audio you record for dictation, are processed transiently and are not retained on our servers after your request completes. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your content to train models.

Who processes your data (subprocessors)

  • Anthropic — receives the text you translate or polish, to generate the result. Privacy policy
  • Maven speech-to-text service — our self-operated transcription service (hosted on Modal) receives dictation audio to produce a transcript.
  • Clerk — authentication and account management. Privacy policy
  • Stripe — payment processing. Privacy policy
  • Railway — application and database hosting.

Browser extension permissions

  • Storage — to save your connection token and preferences locally on your device.
  • Active tab & scripting— to read text from and insert results into the field you’re using, and to show the Maven panel when you click the icon.
  • Microphone — only when you start a dictation, to record the audio you choose to transcribe.
  • Access to web pages— so the panel can appear next to your text field on any site (Gmail, Slack, etc.). The panel activates only when you open it; it tracks which field you last focused so “Grab” and “Insert” know where to act.
  • Connection with maven.softwareplus.app — so the website can securely hand your account connection to the extension after you sign in.

Retention & your choices

Account and usage records are kept while your account is active. You can disconnect a device at any time from your account page, and you can request deletion of your account and associated data by emailing us.
